    JBL L300 driver impedance question

It's want to make sure I have this right, I am currently passively biamping my JBL L300s and was curious about driver impedance. I have one amp for the HF drivers (slot tweeter and horns) and one amp for the woofers. I have the HF section hooked up to the 4ohm tap on the HF amp #1 (tweets x2 + horns x2) and the woofers hooked up to the 8ohm tap (136a x2) on LF amp #2 - is this correct?

I never understood why people bother to "passively bi-amp" unless it's just to get some tube sound up high. I just tri-amp 300s with a simple 2nd order 3 way EC. The horn EQ can be accomplished the same way GT did it in the 200B and the 300 - with different crossover points for the woofer and the mid - or with conventional EQ. BTW I don't use blocking caps on the 2405's and have never had a problem. I tried one on one side and was shocked at how much signal they gobble up in the operating range so now I ride bareback. Getting noise levels down to inaudible when there's no signal isn't easy but IMO this is THE way to run 300's if you're going to mess with with multi-amping, because they sound awfully good bone stock.
