Hi, Ken,
There are earlier threads devoted to this speaker, which, I agree with you, looks very promising.
Here's one:

So has the actual availability of this speaker in the U.S. ever been determined?
John
Not by me. I'm disinclined to pester anybody about it when I know I'm very unlikely to spring for them, but it might be possible to approximate them. I think Giskard said the horn, which is also used in some other speakers, is available and so is the cone bass/mid driver. I think one could use the 2430 on the mid horn. One could have a choice of woofers, the best candidates I think would be the 1500Al and the 1400nd. That leaves the tweeter, but I think the 53tis and wave guide from the LSR line would be worth a try.
Then there's the crossover . . . oh yes, the crossover. I don't know if the circuit for the 4348 has been published, but it might be possible to piece together a starting point from other sources, depending on the driver selection.

The model numbers are listed above in the second post
Unfortunately, it's Asia only.Originally posted by johnaec

Ohé Ken, it's no new !! 4348 new in summer 2002 !!!
The 4338 is new
Don: Are these the models we wouldn't like the "voicing?"
Also, is the 4425 MKII in that class?
My wife said I was always a little slow...
These are listed on the North American Site in English!
Maybe they are going to become available here? I see no reason to list them on the NA site unless that is the case?
Ken
All the parts/components are listed on the latest price sheet (but most are currently out of stock) so they might be available if someone really wants a pair.
In May 2003, I found the technical manual for the 4348 somewhere on the Internet, giving the details of i.a. the cross-over circuitry.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address if you would like to have a copy of the PDF file.
"JPGs" of the S4800 schematic have been posted HERE, on this site.
I would agree that pdf files are more "portable" for filing purposes.

EDIT: The above link goes to the S4800 schematic instead of a 4348, as I originally thought
My Bad !
Some other interesting pics of the internals of a 4348 from speakerdave in this other 4348 thread
