Honestly, without your sub-chassis and added suspension, I don't see the value.

    ;-)

Maybe it's time I produce them. Just got too busy with the automotive and motorcycle parts.

Vinyl is apparently on a serious incline.

Lightbulb Aetna Pollak pots corroded badly

    No Charge (except postage)

That of course if abuse hasn't burned away the wiper or ham-fisted wrenching of the control to "clear things up" hasn't destroyed the wire windings

There are no comparable level controls available today, at least not for a reasonable sum (of which I am aware) that will work the same as the originals
Although substituting modern L-pads will work (I've had to do it a few times) using them WILL change the sound of the speaker

Always save the originals if possible when restoring old ARs; there are lubricants available today that when applied to these old pots will restore them in such a way as to give you years of reliable, smooth (and quiet) operation when properly cleaned and retensioned
    Hi,

I read your post and see you offer to help to fix the Aetna Pollak pots (16 ohms - aR-2ax speakers). Just wonder would you happen have extra cooper/brass plate that is part of the Aetna Pollak potentiometer? If you do please let me know if I can obtain from you for a small fee if it's ok with you. If you don't have it please advise where I can find a similar plate.
I would like to change out these cooper/plates in these pots since mine were corroded so badly. BTW, I just cleaned them up last night and they've started broken apart. I did not want to disconnect these pots because I can clean and replace the cooper plates inside these speakers with out reconnect the wires.

Please advise and send reply to my email ([email protected]) at your earliest convenience.

    Much appreciated,
    Henry

Shure V15-III phono cartridge By J. Gordon Holt

    Conclusions
In short, this is one of the two best pickups available, and is probably the best for most hi-fi perfectionists. But the Decca still sounds more "alive."

Was pretty much his standard line
Best there is but always accompanied by some little "if but not for" chicken shit caveat

Holt never met a V15 he didn't like

Tony, Joseph, Thomas ; How about sticking to positive comments and not crapping on threads that you disagree with

    Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
    What's to disagree with?
    What's not positive or crappy?
I always found his breaking the Koetsu crowd's balls with his V15 love very amusing and entertaining
And he was consistent in doing it
It's not as if J. Gordon was some sort of shrinking violet
Or that his Shure bias was a secret
Wasn't the first time he weaponized a review

If you read the article, he didn't care for the T1 or T2 so well,
in fact he called the T1 just a rebadged M-58 (AFAIR the model number)

I've never been a fan of Holt, much preferred Julian Hirsch
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Hirsch

I posted the review as there seem to be some here that still enjoy that cart
