4311 center and 4311b as R/L in home theatre?

    Ok,
    i have 3 of these guys - 2x4311b as my R/L and 1 4311 as the center.
the crossovers have been recapped, and i had to replace on of the tweeters in the center - but they sound darn good.

i'm wondering which H.T. reciever would be an idea match for these guys?
My theatre isn't huge, but i want the best i can get for these guys -

    thoughts?
i'm going to buy a Matching Receiver and Blu-Ray player - (or pre/amp setup if needbe)

    Thanks

    Aaron

I think those three speakers could make an excellent home theater. I would use an Anthem MRX-310 AVR. For your Blu-ray player I would use an Oppo BDP-103.

These two pieces of equipment are not the least expensive out there but they are both sonically superior and really well designed pieces.

Oh cool. I have an mrx500 now and the anthem bluray but its starting to show issues and wont play many if any new blu ray discs

my only issue with it the mrx500, is that it dosent always shake hands with my snoy projector but other than that its great

so ill get the oppo, but any reason to sell the500 and go for the 510 or 710?

The newer Anthems have slightly better and easier to use room correction, better HDMI handling, and HDMI audio return channel, but I wouldn't upgrade unless you need one of those features.

Get the Oppo and you should be good to go.

Thanks - i'll go for the Oppo -

as for the Anthems - my mrx500 doesn't really disappoint me with regard to the way they drive the 4311s - but i been told that the 4311/4312 need serious power to make the respond properly -
i definately need a new sub - any recommendations there?

as for power - i don't really listen all that loud when I watch movies, but i do want the speakers powered properly for if/when i need it....

kinda why i was thinking of stepping up somewhere - the better handling of HDMI does sound intriguing - especially if i go for the larger 710 -
or i coudl go with the 310, and outboard amps

    ugh - decisions.

In my HT I use an MRX-300 with a three channel Halcro amp for my front three channels. That said I run my stereo L100s with a 75wpc Marantz receiver and really doubt more power would be beneficial.

As for a good sub? I use a pair of Velodyne HGS10s in the front two corners as they are compact and pack a pretty good and pretty deep wallop. I wouldn't mind two more in the rear and may add them as some become available.

Cool, somewhere along the line, i got the idea that the l100/4311 etc needed a ton of power.
