    TAD has the TL1801 that is still in production and very similar to the 2245H response-wise.

    thanks Guys. So without going to the dark side, it doesn't appear that JBL has a more advanced, modern version of the 2245.

    The 2269 has dual voice coil and a neodymium magnet. I'd say that's more advanced and modern. Whether or not it's what you're after is a different question, but it exists.
