Title pretty much says it all. I'm wondering what the model number of JBL Professional Series 18" Subwoofer is in production today. A link to it would help too.
You guys are great!
Thanks for the help!

I am. I'm trying to get two right now, but that still doesn't answer my question. There must be a current product that replaces the discontinued product. Right?
Hi,
JBL have nothing in their current line up to replace the 2235 or 2245 as far as I know.
Allan.
The only 15 in pro that I know of would be the 2216Nd. One might even stand a hope in hell of getting them.
I know of nothing in an 18 in pro that has anywhere near the compliance and or low Fs of the 2245. Surprise surprise.
Barry.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.
The 2245H was replaced by the 2242H in the 4645 subwoofer system:

Vertical horn kind of guy
I seem to recall that the 2269 was considered the replacement or closest equivalent for the 2245...
The 2242 and 2269 are fine speakers in their own right. However, I do not think they can match the 2245 for quality of sound. These are more suited for sound reinforcement and not so much, sound reproduction as the 2235/45 was made for. The 2242 would be a replacement for the 2240/41 and I guess the 2269 would replace the 2242, using a neo motor to be lightweight in its intended use.
Allan.
This thread has some thoughts about 2245 and 2269

Hi,
Looking at the:

and
http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...l=1#post355741
it seems to me that 2269H would be "acceptable" solution ( with JBL NEW Drivers), but the price of around 2000$ to 3000$ (not sure) per driver can be something that can make "trouble".
Possible solution can be 2245 (2240) basket to be re-coned with JBL 2245 recone kit ( C8R2245) if it is available.

I think at the retail price for 2269G/H is around $1500 each
I think at there were interesting to try them in 4645B/C enclosure or even 4345 with 10" 2251J for mid

BMS 18N862 is pretty close.
JBL 218G is another 18" candidate. Used in the Eon series, it is a neo lightweight and cheep enough to boot.
Maybe worth a look for moving a lot of air for a little money.
Allan.
