    New 4430 DIY project

    Hi

I started to build 4430 DIY, i find the JBL components: 2426H, 2344A (From 4828) and 2235H, i will use an active crossover (DBX 223XS) with 2 x Yamaha P3500S, i understand that i need to keep some part from the jbl passive crossover (N3134) for the equalization of the 2344A horn.

It is possible to replace the R301 (30 ohms 25 watts) with the same R202 potentiometer (8 ohms 30 watts) ?

It is possible to replace R301/R302 with fixed resistors ? if it's ok what resistors did i need to have flat results from the 2426H/2344a ?

Did i need to keep the C5/C6 with R2 on the 2235H ?

    Regards

You can use fixed resistors. You are going to have to experiment on the values. I think the HF trim is around 4 ohms not sure on the mid level you could always drop one in temporarily and measure it. As far as the zobel it was probably left in as a simplification with the stock biamp switch. Active you should be able to just take it out.

Why not take care of the horn EQ electronically, or is that the uneeded Zobel?

What is the purpose of the C5/C6 with R2 on the 2235H ? i use active crossover (1kHz) directly on the 2235H...

    Thanks
