Why Beatlemania could never happen today

    snippet:

So much of popular music -- both the business and the artistic inventiveness -- can be traced to The Beatles. If they're back, they've never really gone away.

Three years ago, the group's 1969 album "Abbey Road" was the best-selling vinyl album of the year. Thirteen years ago, the greatest-hits package "1" was the No. 1 album in the country, wrapping up an eight-week stint at the top. Almost 20 years ago, all three of the "Anthology" volumes went to No. 1. And so on.

The Beatles are part of our cultural DNA

I have so many disagreements with this article that can't list them all.

Did Beatles push black music aside?

"...the moment when rock 'n' roll became white and they were banished to a lower-status ghetto labeled R&B or soul. "

I can't relate to the above statement in the wrap-up of the article. When and how were the sounds of Memphis, Philadelphia, Detroit R&B/Soul sounds relegated to "low status ghetto" artistic product?

That's just the MSM fanning the flames of racial inequity. They do so at every chance. Pay no mind.

The Beatles were a magical event that coincided talent, timing and tenacity among other things. Of course it couldn't happen today; the machine they helped create has taken over.

    Cheers,

    Warren
