altec 755c cone into altec 755a?

Is it possible to first off, remove the cone from an altec 755c without damaging then install it in a altec 755a?

If I'm not mistaken, I beleive that the shape of the cones......

on the A, C, and E version is the same. The difference being that the "A" version cone was made using a very involved "vacu-form" process that used silk and cotton materials. I believe that the later "C" and "E" versions of this driver use a different cone material. I own a pair of the C and a pair of the E, but will probably never own an A due to thier crazy prices these days. So, if I were you, I wouldn't risk a perfectly working "C" version to try to repair an "A" version, because ultimately, it will probably "sound " like a "C" version. Look around on eBay, there used to be a guy selling 755 "type" cones for a resonable price. Perhaps Steve Schell, co-founder of this website will chime in, I'm sure that he knows a lot more about this than I do. In any case, Good luck! Paulie
