Dead power transformer - is amp a boat anker?

My plate amp has a dead power transformer and a new replacement unit is $200 before labor charges! What should I do with this amp? A new replacement amp is $325. The unit is only 5 years old.

You could always look for a broken pro amp and use the transformer, make a small external box to house it.
