2226H with alu dust caps ?

    Hi.

Recently I've noticed different sets of boxes for sale, with 2226H having an alu dust cap, like eg. the K-130,
    http://www.dba.dk/jbl-4623-cabaret-s...id-1003187867/

but the product sheet for 2226H shows a black/paper dust cap
    http://www.jblpro.com/pages/pub/components/2226.pdf

Was the 2226H also made with the alu cap origianally, or is it recone with none 2226H kits, and is it anything to go with compared to the original 2226H ?

    Brgds, Erik.

Strange, the 4623 should have an E130-8 and 2402 bullets

    Isn't that 2226HPL chassis?

Mystery solved ... I called the guy up.
The photo of the front is one he got from the web - there are no tweeters in his boxes. He is'nt sure they are 4623, but guessed the are - or were, before the previous owners removed the tweeters and xovers.
The dust caps on his are black, so the woofers are 2226H.
(unfortunately one of the cones has a dent in it )

Apparently his cabs are Cabaret 4621's modded as subwoofers (hence the 2226).
The 4621 uses the same box as the 4623 but with the tweeter hole patched. Not sure what they could've been used for, electric guitar maybe?

I have a pair of 4623 cabs myself but sold the units long time ago.
In stock from they aren't really usable for home listening. The E130-8 plays fullrange all up to 6-6.5KHz and overlaps with the 2402 (+3104 networks) from 2.5KHz
Personally I'd love to hear 4628B with E145, 2118H mid and 2404H BiRadial.

4623 sound great but shows a high directivity pattern (i've 2 pairs ). E145 in 4628 design works wide open also (i've a pair )
