I wanted to jump in on the first post.

I have a question to the OP and an observation to share.

Have you ever recorded your system and then listened to the playback?

When you walk into a room wether you are conscious of it or not you sense and size up the room almost immediately. You could walk blindfolded into most any normal space and know if you were indoors or not, in a small room or large, in an absorptive or reflective space and likely roughly guess the ceiling height in a few seconds and your brain does the processing to allow you to hear the source of interest straight through most of the environmental effects. When you listen to something recorded in another space and the recording includes the sonic signature of the environment you have little ability to process or filter out the effects of the environment. It's similar to attempting to solve something encrypted without the key.

Try it, record your main system and go listen to it on your computer. Even though you are familiar with the space, I think you will be surprised at how unfamiliar it sounds. Be warned, it will likely make you unhappy.

    Barry.

Question: Why do we never see Rick? What does Rick do? The only person on the videos and on the site is Kenji.

He's probably in the next room, adjusting the equalizer.

I completely agree with your post... in fact I thought your primary point was self evident. I think this just points out once again we all arrive here with very different levels of experience and basic understanding.

I think you have to look on the Kenrick site, not Kendrick!

I believe you'll see several cameos from Rick from about 59-seconds on in this video: http://jbl43.com/?mode=f3
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

    HaHa that's funny!

Actually I think someone did "make it stop." There are a couple of people that may have been given a vacation. What ever the circumstances I for one am thankful for the noise reduction.

Heck, even an L3 would sound good pushing India Arie through a Handi-Cam microphone.

BTW, how large are my MacBook Pro "woofers", maybe one-inch?

Maybe Kenji should market an EQ setting for laptops to make them sound just like S4700s. Or, better, your choice of any of the 43xx series 4-ways.

    Kendrick

On another note, just received a paid of their 2308's! Fantastic! They were dispatched 2 hours after I purchased them and arrived in NZ 4 days later.

Do we get a discount if we know the super-secret spelling is "Kendrick"?
