    Hi Gerard!

    4425
    Woofer 2214H
    Compression Driver 2416H
    Horn 2342

Woofer is hard to get, maybe I can help. PM me
2416H is available from JBL at appr. 380 Euros each. 2426H can also be used and is available on Ebay or JBL

2342 is available from JBL. Appr. 180 Euro

    4430
Woofer 2235H available on Ebay. Maybe I can help. PM me.
Compression Driver 2426H is available from JBL at appr. 400 Euros each. 2426H is also available on Ebay.
Horn 2344 is a challenge to get. There is a substitude from P Audio. PM me....

I prefer the 4425. If bigger is better I would build the 4435.

    Good Luck!

I've got a pair of N.O.S. 2214H-1's but they are pretty expensive.

With the 2342 horn you need a compression driver with a threaded snout so you can use 2416, 2418, 2425S, 2426. With the 2344 you need a 3 hole mount so there you can use 2420, 2421, 2425, 2426 and 2416 and 2425S with the adapter plate from the 2426. You really have a decent amount of choices with the horns the woofer's??? Kind of stuck if you want a clone.

If you decide to build a pair, I have a pair of 2427H for sale. They can be used as a replacement for the 2416H or 2426H with a screw on adapter.

You've also got the crossover problem.

Consider purchasing 4425's used, even just for the drivers and xovers.

Not very long ago, they were $1000 a pair.

Much more reasonable than that now....

    Other suggestions? 4612B's with subwoof.

    4612 Components are 2X 2118J with a 2404. Nice set-up!

Yes, I understood that. Buy a used pair, and have the drivers and crossovers ONLY sent to you, not the cabinets. That's going to be the cheapest way to get the components, especially if you can find a pair with damaged cabinets for sale....

    Gerard:

I would not think of using 4612īs for Hi Fi, they are designed for short throw reinforcement, the 2404 is, I think the H-1 with a thicker diaphragm, which makes it handle a bunch of power, but loses very high freqs, You will need a sub, and there is no comparison to what You already have.

I have a pair, and they are good for parties, when You want Loud, not clean.

If You need more, try to get or make a bigger JBL studio monitor.

Those surrounds are correct. They are not foam. The 2118's are separately crossed as bass and mid/bass in this system. You will need a subwoofer.

O.K., we've got 434X clones in the living room. We'd like to build something for the bedroom. We'd like to do 4425, but the components are too hard to get and too expensive. We MIGHT be able to find a reasonably priced set to have parted out and get the components only shipped to Casablanca....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...729847966&rd=1 No international sales; you'll need help to make it happen.

Would LE14A work in lieu of 2214? Yup, but perhaps others may have some suggestions here. 4425 crosses it at 1200 Hz, a push, perhaps....

What else might we consider? If we LIKE biradial, the 2404H is a good tweeter. Look at the specs and what others have said about them here. It's got all of the UHF extension of the 2405 with wide dispersion to boot. Neither the 4425 nor the 4430 have this UHF sizzle.

2118 is a warm midrange and mid/bass driver. 4612 is a worthy candidate for consideration; the cabinet is modest in size. Yes, it's a good party speaker, too. Do you party in the bedroom occasionally?

If you want a MAJOR presence in the bedroom, do 4430's. The components are available, but not cheap either, alas. Settle for the "clone" biradial horns. Crossover is a problem, unless you can build it yourself, or biamp and use active EQ instead....
