    Agreed Mostly, although his curves look much too perfect IMO to be real world examples. I produced curves like this once, only to realize that my mic preamp was being hammered at its limits.

    The woofers are a much easier job to convert. The compression drivers required turning the pole piece. Of course there is still machining required for the core on the woofer motor to make it the appropriate length. Plus to make sure the sides are parallel to each other. Hoping to get some lathe time next week. That 12l14 is fun to machine, like cutting butter.

    In the mean time I'm going to use a program called quickfield to try and run a few simulations of the motor. If I have any luck I'll try and post a screen shot.


    Its funny people always seem to want to know why I'm doing this. They don't get it when I say because its fun. But it is.


    There is some funky info out there about field coils. The only other reason I'm doing it is to drop the qes of my drivers to bump up the ebp.
