I hope JBL sells tons of S3900's.
How about your Tannoy 6.4 comparing with your JBL?

I kinda thought so...still I wish the 4429 or even a lowly single ten inch version were available in the USA. *sigh*

FYI, you missed the point. Hint: "difference" is the result from a subtraction.

    We shall see.

As far as the Tannoy Precision 6.4 loudspeakers they are a lot cheaper and not in the same price class.
They may be enjoyable but I really do not think we are comparing fairly here.

When I receive my JBL-3900's I will be fully breaking them in and then doing head to head comparisons.

But the Tannoy's I will be comparing them to will be the TANNOY DEFINITION series model DC-8T and DC-10T which are in the same price range.

I will be testing them all with the KRELL Phantom 3 pre amp and a KRELL 2250e power amplifier.

I cannot wait until the S-3900's show up to start seeing what all these fine loudspeakers can do.

No. No comparison. I would have preferred the S3900. My wife preferred the 6.4, and based solely on appearance at that. Well, she liked the price too, but that was after the fact.

It could be interesting to see how the DC-10T compares. I would not be surprised if the dual 100FE-12's come out on top. I would also imagine that the Tannoy would have a little bit of trouble keeping up with the 175Nd-3 and 139Nd in the S3900.

The Tannoy that I am most interested in is the DC10A. But I doubt that I will ever bother to own a pair, my Everest II clones will have to do me from here on out.

The next time I go to Mississauga I will have to drop by your place. JBL TOP OF THE LINE K2-9900 (TORONTO) Canada
