    LE111A - low QTS

    Hi All

I've wondered for sometime how JBL was able to get such a high BL and low Qts for this woofer . Any thoughts on how this was achieved ?

Any time I've modelled this woofer in a box , the super low Qts gave it quite a "shelved & carved out bass respone".
( Good thing JBL didn't design with my software .)

Does anyone out there use this woofer ? Any comments ?

    Re: LE111A - low QTS

It had a whole lotta voice coil in the gap. 121 turns wound 0.750" deep as compared with the LE10H/LE10H-1/LE111H which was first 82 turns wound 0.750" deep, then 86 turns wound 0.750" deep.

Re for the LE111A was 5.7 ohms while Re for the LE10H/LE10H-1/LE111H was 4.8 ohms. Minimum Impedance for the LE111A was 7.2 ohms while minimum impedance for the LE10H/LE10H-1/LE111H was 5.7 ohms.

Le for the LE111A was on the order of the big 4-inch voice coiled transducers.

Makes sense - I did need to see the explanation in print .
