How to clean a diaphragm ?

    Hello
I've just receive a old pair of JBL2445 but the diaphragms are not as clean as expected, do you know what can I use to clean them ? Alcool, or other product ?

    Thanx

Clening the VC gap is most important..... Be careful.about cleaning the diaphram,,You can ding the surface and could be costly.

Agreed. Maybe an ultrasonic cleaner would do the job.

I would strongly urge you to replace the diaphragms... even pristine looking diaphragms are frequently out of spec. especially if the drivers had been used in professional applications.

I wouldn't apply any alcohol or solvent on the diaphragms. I once did a test and alcohol removes "something" from the diaphragm. I say use compressed air, then clean the gap.

Use as a solevent what's most likely on them, start with beer and move to mixed drinks.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

Actually, I wonder if lukewarm water and dish soap isn't all that it takes.

If you also blow cigarette smoke at them, that should clean them right up
