Curious: L400??

In the 1975 Consumer catalog a mention was made of a coming "L400" which never materialized, at least under that name. Does anybody know what became of it? Was the L212 the speaker (released, I think, in 1976 or '77) the model they were alluding to?

Interesting! This was right about the time JBL's prices were skyrocketing each year, so I suspect that pricing the system competitively WAS the primary problem with bringing it to market at that time. The engineers and product planners must have been frustrated; it would have been a nice offering.
