    L15 lf driver issue

The wires (look like braided tinsel leeds) that come from the voice coil or drivers' center keep braking off of the tabs. The tabs, lugs, connectors or whatever their proper term is the ones that have the push on connectors coming from the x-over. I have resoldered them twice, don't play them loud at all, but still they break, not at the solder joint but just below. I assume by now I have over heated them after a few re-solderings and they have become brittle. Should I try to go into the innards and install new leeds or just replace the driver...and will a 115h-1 (From a L20t ?) work? thanks

Is there enough slack in the lead in wires to allow full movement of the cone?

You can try putting a little mastic in the area of the lead in coming from the connector , perhaps 1/2" to give added support to the wire. I have done this a few times in the past with good success.

I tried to resolder in such a way as to provide as much slack as possible, but the leeds are now shorter than they should be, probably limiting cone travel somewhat. The speakers are for a small garage set-up always played at low volume possibly reducing the need for 100% compliance. Is there much difference in a 115h and a 115h-1?

For your stated purpose, the H-1 should be fine. Yes there are differences but they are not huge.
The 506G is also a candidate as a last resort.
