    116h vs 117h

HI all, new guy here with a question? I have jbl L19 and 4301B,s with the 116h woofs, I also have the jbl L46's with 117h woofs, both are 8 inch but different colors, my question is other than color are they interchangable or are the different in some way?
nice forum by the way, glad to be apart
    thanks in advance

    They are different....

They are not necessarily interchangeable, but as Figge asks: "why are you wanting to do this...?

As an example of how "subtle" differences in model numbering can mean different characteristics, here are the Thiele-Small parameters for the 116-series, as posted by Giskard 1 June, 2003...

And to get this noise all together...

...here is an excerpt (for image size reasons, only...) of something Giskard posted 7 March, 2003, on the L16-L19-L46-L60 series...

Notice the 116 and 117 are mated with different HF's and different networks. JBL designed them that way...

ONE of my 117h's cannot seem to keep up with the bass? I really dont know if this is the proper terminology but what it come's down to is one sounds crappy and the other sounds good, and it seems like the 116h is easier to find, hence the question?

sounds like it´s been damaged in some way! in my opinion the best idéa is to recone the 117:s and they will be like new! this would most serainly give u better results than to throw in a pair of 116:s,

    regards

I can see a lot of t/s data on 4 different 116 models. Do you have the t/s on 117h?
