What were JBL 2235H 15" Speakers used in?

Trying to figure out if the JBL 2235H 15" Speaker was offered in an enclosure. Trying to find a couple for a project and was thinking this might be an alternative way to search for them.

If they were, does anyone have a list or model number etc?

    Thanks

My B380 sub had one! Pretty sure they also came in the 4430 2 ways ...

They get traded around pretty well - got a pair from a forum member a few years back for
the 4341s I was modifying at the time (that came used with 2234s).

Once I had the 2235s, I moved the similar 2234s into the L200s in my Avatar ...
2ch: WiiM Pro; Topping E30 II DAC; Oppo, Acurus RL-11, Acurus A200, JBL Dynamics Project - Offline: L212-TwinStack, VonSchweikert VR-4
    7: TIVO, Oppo BDP103D, B&K, 2pr UREI 809A, TF600, JBL B460

might be less expensive to look for compatible frames that can be reconed
    (e.g., 2225... there's a vetted list here somewhere)

Other than the already mentioned B380 subwoofer, all I can think of system-wise is
rather expensive/collectible(?) pro monitors of the 43xx and 44xx variety.

Grumpy's right the easiest way is to get a pair of ferrite cores like 2225's and have them reconed with fresh kits. Don't know what the cone kits are going for now but a few years ago that was the cheapest way to get a pair. You can also look for 136H's many of which would have been reconed with 2235 kits.

The only ones I'm aware of are the B380, 4344, 4355, and 4430. Which means, as others have mentioned, they will be expensive and not the best source for parting components.
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

I asked my favorite Seattle reconer and he said $130 maybe more for the little weight ring gizmo if it's there and "difficult".
I guess my question with regard to the 2225s is how close can you get them to the 2235s ?

Do the 2225s have the weight ring thingy?

Thanks for these suggestions, always trying to figure a way to back into things (probably nothing new)

Guessing that's an aftermarket kit for $130... may not come with the mass ring. JBL kit has it in there.
2225 is same frame and magnet as 2235, so once reconed, it -is- a 2235. ... without the mass ring, it's a 2234.

Your decision on the whole after market vs. OEM recone business...

JBL kit is P/N C8R2235 (same kit for 2234)

I'm probably wrong here but its perhaps a way to go , 2225 , remove the suround and replace with a foam from Rick Cobb , add suitable amount of aquaplas to back of cone in situ.
Tricky task with the aquaplas I suppose but would this not be pretty much where we want to be ??

Don't flame me , just thinking outside the box.

If one had access to aquaplas, something like an S&L woofer tester, patience,
and more knowledge than I about the difference between the 2225 and 2235
progressive spider, one could conceivably come close, or at least learn from
    the experience

It was just an idea.. I think the coil is longer on the 2225 also ........

Re the Aquaplas did someone not figure out the equivalent qty to make up the mass ring weight ?

On the subject of aftermarket kits I was given a assurance that the MWA product is made on the same jigs etc as the factory parts. ( This from a major JBL service center in this country )

wasn't trying to sound too critical

I think 4313B had/has posted the mass info and steps
in applying/drying/weighing/repeat. vs. using the mass ring
    with the 2235 kit.

No probs Grumpy , as I said I was just thinking sideways.

Actually I'm no big fan of the mass ring in use where the driver is expected to play up to 800-1000Hz. You can hear its presence. In sub use , no probs at all of course.
This from a 2235 user , but I have taken my mids down to 600 ish and boy did that clean up some mud.
I would expect that Aquaplas only might not sound as thick at the HF end of things as the weight would not be concentrated at the VC , which is now trying to move very quickly.
