    Question Adjusting 250ti Mid-ranges & Tweeter

I just purchased a beautiful set of 250ti speakers but can't find any information on how to use the many adjustment dials on the backside for both midrange's and the tweeter. The owners manual does not help and the original owner did not remember how to reset each speaker back to neutral or explain how to use the shorting links. Does anyone know of a document that can help me understand the mechanics, how to reset to neutral and optimally adjust the speakers? Thanks for any help.

    pretty darn easy .

    1. locate a slot head screw driver of appropriate size
    2. pull the shorting bars off and reset all to "0"

    3. listen for a while, adjust bars to attenuate as needed.

It's arguable whether the crossover adjustments really offer any value in the days of automated parametric EQs. But if you're using a dedicated analog stereo pre-amp setup then you *may* wish to make some adjustment. Note that the adjustments only offer attenuation, no way to boost any of the 3 circuits.

I would still prefer to use a spectrum analyzer to adjust them if automated PEQ is not available.

I'll add that you'll realize a great deal more (and better) results by careful placement adjustments than by using the crossover adjustments.

Another step that's recommended is to remove all the shorting bars and polish them with some steel wool on both sides- remove all old patina - and re-tighten them.
