He would indeed. I've thought of him quite often during all this.

I've been thinking of a quick and dirty approach with M2 parts. It would consist of all of the parts available from Speakerrepair, stuffed into a used CF150 cabinet.

M2 Waveguide Availability at The Speaker Exchange Update

I spoke with Randall at The Speaker Exchange today about the M2 Waveguide availability and was told JBL is still showing a two week timeline until arrival (This was at 11am CST). He did say that update was from May 4th and that JBL receives shipments from JBL Mexico on Friday so they could still show up at JBL USA today(Which would be accurate on the two weeks). He also said they have almost 2 dozen on backorder so we should be seeing a lot of great projects this summer.

For those hesitating about spending $80 for a pair of the original metal logos, here is an alternative:
    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/M-JBL-Logo-JB...3D151692053521

It is 3cm square and should fit the M2 horn.

I will ask the seller if he can do a silver version and keep the thread informed.
It should be doable as his shop already has silver and gold Bose logos:

Got my M2's yesterday, quickly unpacked them and have them running with the default settings in the Crown amps. I have to say, without reservation, these are the best speakers I've ever owned. Maybe even the best I've ever heard as well.

Nice that we see more and more examples of M2 owners here.

I hope that I with the following message does not sound like a grumpy negative guy, but I have heard two demo's of the M2 (one in Denmark and one in New York) and first of all, I think it sounded fantastic. Dynamics, clarity and details were really good. BUT, both times I heard it, I thought it sounded a little "thin" in the midrange. Difficult to explain, but the best way to explain it is to compare it to the S9900 and Everest. Their sound has a unique midrange with "body/weight" without sacrafising clarify and details. More tactile-sounding.

Am I the only one who have this point of view? My conclusion so far is, that it is because of the 4" compression driver in the S9900/Everest.

I think (hope?) several members here will be able to test your hypothesis sooner than later

    ... and in the 4365

The compression-driver in the M2 is not in the same league as the 4" 476mg/476be, it has been stated by several "authorities" on this forum.
