    James Bongiorno Rest In Peace

We lost one of the greatest today, James passing away here on the Central Coast of California.

The girlfriend of a close of friend of mine was his personal medical caregiver, and now we are all very sad about his departure.

This is the abolute truth: James had spent the past several weeks setting up and tweaking a top end system. I am not sure if this was for a friend or for a customer (Perhaps both?)

I told my buddy that is exactly what he lived for. We can have some feeling of joy, knowing that James had gone out 100% being James.

May God rest you easy, Mr.B

A very sad day indeed. We worked together for over 10 years and talked on the phone a couple times a year to just stay in touch.

I did not like to bother him, as he was always busy with real pursuits. He was still going 100%, right up to the last.

I had an SAE MK III CM way back when. I could sense that it was somehow special. But at the time I could not begin to fathom the depth to which James had taken engineering and sonic excellence in his designs, Now, after reading about his many achievements, I can <barely> scratch the surface.

    He was totally awesome.

I have fond memories of lunches with James at a simple diner in Santa Barbara, CA. I knew that he was sick but had hoped that he would outlast the rest of us! Rest in Peace my friend. Your brilliance and quirky personality will be missed.

Definitely. So will his company continue, or is it over?

    RIP James

I met James (twice) over the phone.

A very strong personality, and ALWAYS right. This was a good thing (for us) because you need that kind of personality for this business. He HATED tubes, I don't remember why. If I remember, he also could play an intrument and/or could sing. I will miss him, and I'm quite sure the rest of us will also.
