Need help please, what are these??

    What are these??
A friend of mine in Michigan has them.
    Few pictures below.
The components are from years 1962 through 1964.
I searched the Library, and could not find them.
JBL Two Way with LE-10, LE-30 and LX-3 crossover.
    Cabinet measures about 36” x 12”.
No badges or part numbers found on the cabinets.
I would appreciate any comments and inputs on age, model, history, ETC.
    Thanks,
    SB

I believe they are JBL Minigons - a recasting of the Paragon design in much smaller form.
The one I linked to on Audio Asylum Trader below said:
"They have an LE-10 woofer, and a LE-30 tweeter and an LX3-1 crossover"
I did notice your friend's speakers seem shorter than the louvered ones in the image below
and have a cloth grill instead of the wooden slats of the originals tho ...
maybe they are a homebrew copy of some kind?

    See - http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?30226-JBL-Minigon-Question

Note that the proper orientation is to put them together longways so the curved ends somewhat form a semicircle in the center ...

    Slats were optional it seems:

    Pretty cool piece!

PS, Your friend would probably enjoy his/her L46s a bit more if they were up off the floor.

Wow, that's such a jarring visual to see them "upright" with the curved baffle at the bottom.
    Out.

Yeah, when I googled them, a couple sites had them listed as "Tall Floorstanders" ...
probably sound kinda funky, standing on end like that!

    I spoke to friend today.
He’s excited to have the info I shared with him from the reply’s and links. Thanks again.
    Crossovers work.
    LE-30’s work.
Both LE-10’s need new cones and surrounds.
From the catalogs I can’t find the LE-10 as an option for the C46. Only LE-8.
Any leads on LE-10 cone kits?
Also can’t find any tags or model number badges any where on the front or back of cabinets.

It right there in the link:

Under LE8 it says S5, which consists of LE10A, etc.

Now I get it. C-46 = enclosure only.
