I agree; by the late 60s Jimi Hendrix had "settled down" alot, concentrating on playing guitar not puting on a "show'. Although never straying to far from the old days he ended the new years eve shows with some good ol' teeth pick'n!

'Band of Gypsys', Buddy Miles on drums and his old friend he met while in the Army, Billy Cox on bass guitar.

Ralph, Hopefully you have the 'newer' version of the new years eve shows released in 1999 with much more content.

    Later... Mark

"He used fuzz face, wah, wah pedal, Uni-Vibe and Octavia and it was incredible...There were people in the audience with their months open." -Billy Cox

Actually, i have the original Band of Gypsies vinyl and later purchased the Band of Gypsies 2 (quite rare, maybe a bootleg). I believe the two combined roughly have what the 1999 release contains.
