Active vs. Passive 260 vs. 280

What would I gain by going active with my 4622's? Trying to wring the last bit out of them. Do I have to use the DSC280 or will the 260 suffice? I know I need two for 3 channels. I have plenty of amp.

Bi amping is the only way to use these speakers IMHO, cleaner highs and overall clarity you will gain.

Is this for home theatre? L, c, R?

Thanks for your input! Yes it is for home theater use, LCR. I am also upgrading the CD's to the 2450-SL's.
Does te 260 have the same pre-set's for these as the 280? 280's are tougher to find and usually more $$.
