I remember hearing Pink Floyd's "Money" off DSOTM on the radio when I was younger. They didn't change the words, but they made silent the word "shit" when David Gilmour said "don't give me that goody, good bullshit."

It's not uncommon for many of today's CD's to come in two versions; the Wal-Mart approved and the uncensored. I don't like censorship, but I'm getting a little tired of the F-word being used in so many songs. It's no longer shocking; just boring and tired now. But that's not what you asked; sorry for the rant.
Yep endless F@&# is really tired - give me angry concepts over cursewords ...
I had a Quad version of Jefferson Airplane's Volunteers that (apparently RCA) had cleaned up and sanitized a number of their lyrics ... really LAME-O!

But censorship has always been there - what about the Roxy music Country Life album cover with 2 near-topless models in the trees -
For years that has been airbrushed for public consumption -
the worst being the version at Sears that only had the trees - no models!
2ch: WiiM Pro; Topping E30 II DAC; Oppo, Acurus RL-11, Acurus A200, JBL Dynamics Project - Offline: L212-TwinStack, VonSchweikert VR-4
    7: TIVO, Oppo BDP103D, B&K, 2pr UREI 809A, TF600, JBL B460

I completely agree about the F-bombs....save it for when really needed.

Shot by Eric Boman,[9] the cover features two scantily-clad models, Constanze Karoli (cousin of Can's Michael Karoli[10]) and Eveline Grunwald (who was also Michael Karoli's girlfriend). Bryan Ferry met them in Portugal and persuaded them to do the photo shoot as well as to help him with the words to the song "Bitter-Sweet". Although not credited for appearing on the cover, they are credited on the lyric sheet for their German translation work.

The cover image was controversial in some countries such as the United States, Spain, and the Netherlands, where it was censored for release. As a result, a later American LP release of Country Life (available during the years 1975–80) featured a different cover shot. Instead of Karoli and Grunwald posed in front of some trees, the reissue used a photo from the album's back cover that featured only the trees.[11] Author Michael Ochs has described the result as the "most complete cover-up in rock history"

Well, if we're talking about album covers too, there are a TON from the 70's that would create a panic today. Santana's Abraxas was one I stared at in the stores as a young boy.

And what about Blind Faith? Somebody would literally be arrested for that one today.
