    help! ya gotta' se this.

    hello to all,

i'am a newbie with one of the strangest issues that i've seen. it's a long story and i just typed it in this form and it disappeared.
so i'll give you the short version. i have a pair of JBL L100 that have been stabbed with a knife in the woofer missing the voice coil
so the woofers are working. i was told to take bathroom tissue and fix this issue, like paper mache. will this work? it's there
something else i could use or something else i should be doing? short of replacing the woofers.

    thank you for your time.

any help or recommendations would be heart felt and appreciated.

    all the best.

    ian

i'll try and send the pic's. i'am new, i'am trying.

Get some glue made for cones, of the sort that comes with dust caps, and repair the cone from the back.

The glue is black, so you probably don't want to use it on the front. For the dust cap, you might just want to install a new one over that one. Replacement dust caps come with the glue you need. They are generally sized to fit over the old one.

You can fill in the slices with white glue. Use sparingly with a Q-tip to apply. Let dry and refill in any voids to seal air tight.

You can do some repair on the front of the cone too, but I'd still also use the glue on the back for strength and seal.

victim released from surgery with full recovery.

    hello to all,

the woofers have recieved a clean bill of health and are ready to return to action. as with any surgery the scars remain as a
reminder of days gone by and as a topic of conversation. thanks to dr.hotpants16, nurse t and the rest of the staff, rdgrimes
& edgewound. whom without their knowledge, this may have takin' a turn for the worst. i'm sure all parties involved are eager
to have the 123A-3 back to shakin' my rump.

    cheers!

And don't play "Cut it up" by 2 Live Crew. Your woofers might not appreciate...
