    Urei 809 Speaker Grill Question

    Hi All,
I have a pair of Urei 809's, and I recently purchased a pair of grills (they look original). On the Urei boxes, there are 4 holes around the woofer. I assume that these holes are for mounting the grills, but the grills have no post on them. Does anyone know how they originally attached?

    Many Thanks, Wyatt

My 811 Grills came with wooden dowels pins. I used velcro instead but I would guess you could glue them in on one side and press fit the other.

Thanks for the quick reply Rob. On your 811 grills, were the wooden dowels already attached to the grills?

No they were in a bag stapled to the frame.

    Wyatt,
if you get a chance, could you post a picture or two of the frames?
I'd like to cobble a pair together for my 809s

    Sure.

I'm going to do some work on them when I get a chance. One of them had been broken and fixed, but the fix wasn't that great. I bought these off ebay. I'll post some pics when I get started on them.

    Regards, Wyatt
