Altec 817 plans, that are correct

I'm thinking about building 2 altec 817 bass horns. When I was doing some google searches I found some thread talking about how all the plans out there are incorrect. Well I started adding up some of the dimensions on the plans and they don't add up correctly.

So is there a correct drawing out there? Even the one in this forums library is missing quite a few dimensions.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Actually the design was slightly modified by artec-france a few years ago. I have not built their version (or any), but it might very well be worth your while to check this out:

I wish I had a grand to buy them. I'm trying to save up for the closing costs on the house my wife and I are having built. Beside I'm into the build. I find more enjoyment in building them then buying.

Thanks for the link though. I'll keep an eye on them. Maybe the price will drop, lol. I'll check the French planes out too. Maybe there a bit easier to build.

it looks like the horn shares some of the same dimensions with the 828 and the 816. I'll compare them and see what I come up with.

    Thanks,
    Nick

That's a closed space (black) when all the pieces are in place. By the way, some users of (folded) horns suggest these spaces be filled with heavy damping material like sand. There have been other, odder ideas too. I would stuff them with fiberglas or dacron--why not?
