Yes, thanks so much for trying and your hard work on this.

I'm just wondering if the reason the decks aren't working is something simple, like o-rings or belts that have decayed while in storage. It would be a pity if they threw them all away and they could have been easily fixed.

Oh well! Thanks again for trying for us! That was very thoughtful of you.

some common failure modes with the newer CDJs are as simple a dust on the lens/optics

but I bet they know most of the easy fixes, specializing in dusty stuff generally.....

it is too bad, but thanks anyhow for the valiant efforts towards the goal!

BTW One of my Technics had a burnt target light. So I decided to replace it with an LED. Advantages are many. First, life span is 5000 hours vs 500 for a regular neon bulb. Light is much much brighter and, depending on the supplier, there's a wide choice of colours. I went with a warm white. Other advantage is that the price is about the same. Installation is around 30 minutes at most. Well worth the effort. Here'S a comparaison between stock and LED.

Hey Lee, I just wanted to chime in about the Technics decks that are supposed to get trashed.
I love technics gear and have done restoration work on most of their golden "pro" gear.
I'll tell you right off the bat that the problem is bad caps within the circuitry.
those blue caps made by diatone are prone to leak no matter what.
I've seen this on many Technics units. Thanks!!!, Christian.

Hi Christian. Interesting. What are those capacitors for? They are not in the sound path anyway as the wiring from the shell to the RCAs is totally independent.

BTW In regard of the failed deal on NOS SLP-1200 cd players, I have found another local seller that claims he has several units. I contacted him/her.

I bought this this afternoon. That's a CD player based off the good ol' analog SL1200. When it was introduced in 2004, the other companies such as Pioneer and Denon were so scared that this player would become the reference just as was the SL1200, that they started smear campaigns. They paid known DJs to actually lie about the SL DZ1200. Sadly, it was too much for Technics and they widthdrew the digital turntable after only a 5 year production.

BTW Anyone has a 2.3 firmware on an SD card they are willing to mail? I'll pay for everything.
