    Greatest ROCK song EVER ?

    pre 1990

Was adding tunes to the pod and starting thinking,,
"what are the top tunes that the pod HAS to have" &

    "what is the Best EVER"
(you know - the one that comes on and you have to run over and turn it up to 11)

    these came to mind ....

    Good Vibrations - Beach Boys
    Black Magic Woman - Santana
    SusieQ - CCR
I'm looking thru you - Beatles
    Cat Stevens - Trouble
    American Woman - Guess Who
Takin' Care of Business - BTO
    Atlantis - Donovan
Love Me 2 Times - Doors
    Already Gone - Eagles
Legend of a Mind - Moody Blues
    Paint it Black - Stones
    FM - Steely Dan
Livin' in the USA - Steve Miller
Won't get fooled again - Who

But after more thinking ...the top song ever....no contest

Dazed & Confused - Led Zeppelin

    Is your list different ?

Always loved that one too , "lets move before they raise the parking rates" and corny as it is ..Skynard's "FreeBird"

was cleaning the spare BR the other day and found a long lost box of abt 100 old LP's ..vinyl nirvana , plus a pair of Altec 8in coaxials and some pristine AR4x's.

Sunny outside , me and the Fuji (the blue mtn bike in my avatar) going on a vinyl safari after lunch , looking at some JBL P-20's also.

And I thought it was just me! Anyone else here own bass-player Andy Frazier's solo album?

Allow me to add Fleetwood Mac's version to the "Black Magic Woman" entry. Or does that take us out of the "Rock" category?

FM is such a great song, I am partial to the original version as opposed to the newer version found on the Steely Dan Gold cd. The album has the original version, the guitar work is much more tasteful.

Wont get fooled again, the version off of the Kids are alright soundtrack is probably my favorite, a bit more raw.

Is there a limit to the list as far as number of songs...100 +? that would be much more challenging.
    Have fun!

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by George Harrison, Beatles White Album featuring Eric Clapton on Guitar.

Numerous other releases of this song exist by Harrison and Clapton, but the White Album is still the best.

    Yeah, anything by Zep really.

I have really got into their back catalogue lately and it is savage. I never appreciated Bonham until now. The JBL's really let you hear his great kick drum work...just listen to Good Times, Bad Times - all done with a single kick drum!

never heard of the place. ('sides we was diddly boppin' in anticipation)

SusieQ ? My son was slated to be Suzanne Quynh (ruby in tieng vn) , so he cud be SusieQ
( I liked those advanced lyrics) ...he fooled me and came out a guy., worked out for the best.

Just got back from Fuji Vinyl Safari with 3 hours on the pod...was playing one of the greatest full albums that I know of :
10 years After : A Space in Time (bought some JBL P-20's besides 2 LP's)

Wow !! hard monkeys , once there was a time , I'd love to change the world , its loaded with super tunes.
