    Feedback on using P941's

I am installing a new LED TV in my family room. Was seriously considering going with in walls to frre up space. What are your thoughts about using three P941's? Are in-walls just categorically a fail? I will be using additional in room subs.

    S4Ai

The Synthesis® S4Ai is one of the best surrounds I've personally heard. They're in wall and/or on wall speakers. However, I cannot imagine them replacing my SAM1HF/SAM2LF combos up front.

My subjective recommendation is it's fine to use quality in wall speakers, but I'd prefer something more directive up front. The P941 is intriguing to me, and if used with original Performance Series* gear up front would be both a formidable and well-matched system.

    How's the S4VC / S4HC compare in price?

Seems a lot more proven than P941's, or at least there is more feedback out there about the driver arrangement. If the cost is comparable I'd take a look at them.

I mean the biggest problem with the PT800 / PC600 (my .02) is the cheap cabinet finish.
JBL doesn't want to sell you Performance Series speakers.

    Model....MSRP:.......Street:........What I paid:
    P941......1650..........1435...........-----
    S4VC/HC.1700.........1279...........400
    S4Ai......1700..........1279..........450-620
    PT800....1500..........1050..........210-450
    PC600....1700...........499..........150-275

PT800s listed for $1700 at the end, but the ones on harmanaudio.com are listed as original $1500 models. Clearly, on walls like the PT800 and PC600 are the best real word deals I've gotten, since they were almost all NIB. The S4VC I got was used, a little beat, and missing the grille, plus no warranty.

BTW, there's a huge deal on ebay right now for P941s at sub $400 prices. There will be some back box and wiring work needed to make them complete.
