Need Help On Altec Cone Numbers.

    I have 416-8Bs.

    One cone is numbered 18035400-01,

    the other ?21184?4(smudged)

All I have found so far is in this AK post - http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...t=51943&page=2 which doesn't include the 180 numbers but mentions 35400.

    I also have 421-8Hs.

    Both have cones stamped 35402.

I wish to know if the cones are legit Altec ones. I can remember seeing an Altec components Table which included later cones that didn't follow the 391 first three number rule but can't locate it now. Any replies are welcome.

    Cheers, Marshall.

The 21184-4 is an altec cone. I think the other is a replacement. I'm not familiar with the 421 series.

Is this MAH on the Altec board ? Yes as Dave noted the 21184 cones are original Altec cones. For the 416 or the 515.The numbers were 21184-2 and 21184-4 depending on which speaker they were for. The 421 is a bass MI speaker. 35 Hz to 8000 Hz.
