jbl 044 & OR 066 tweeter case cleaning

hello. is anyone familiar with cleaning the outter housing of tweeters from l112 & or l166? i believe it is brushed aluminum that is sensitive to the oils from human touch? i was thinking steel wool, but i would think all of the shavings would be pulled by the magnet. it looks as though its corrosion. maybe chrome polish or wheel cleaner?

Hi, From memory the from part of an 044 detaches from the magnet assembly with some screws. Remove them and you are good to go.

Allan is right, once you remove the tweeter from the box, remove the gasket on the back which will expose the screws. Take them off and the cover comes off to steel wool, polish or paint.
