This has probably been covered before but could not find it in my search. I picked up a beautiful pair of early 4430's from a fellow LH member. They have the 2421A driver. Included in the deal were a pair of 2426H drivers as spares. I swapped one of the 2421's with the later driver to do a comparason. A friend of mine with better ears came over for a listen. He liked the sound of the 2421 better that the 2426. His opinion was the older driver was more detailed, accurate and had a warmer sound. He felt the 2426 could get slightly harsh at times. I too prefer the 2421 but I was not as impressed as my friend. My question is, did JBL change anything in the crossover network, cabinet, horn etc. when they went to the later drivers? The drivers themselves are quite different in appearance, naturally, but the specs look very, very close.
Thanks
