The history is more a collection of pictures than a commented and weighted overview. But there is at least a picture of the shearer horn combination - a milestone.
Some mathematical models up are the cutting edge of those you can find in the web. Have I missed a remark about the narrow directivity of a tractrix horn at higher frequencies?

Thanks for posting. I no idea how complicated horn theory/design was. Unfortunately I am not an engineer or mathematician, so have to struggle with the math, just like in the college dazes(days).
I often wondered what and why the different designs, this document more less explains it.
