    JBL L-96's take a rest, in come JBL 4430's.

    Well, they sound better..if not a bit rolled off in comparison. But the bass, balance, midrange and more holographic capabilities are an improvement no doubt. The previous owner had them checked out and broght back to spec by Soundsmith in NY. They have very nice heavy duty binding posts.

    they are being driven at the moment with a beheamoth amp from David Berning. EA2-150, or his smaller EA-230 triode, or when listening to lute music and the such by a WE91 clone amp (300B). Berning TF-10 preamp.

    I have them on 6" Lovan Jazz stands (precariously I might add)/

    Hard to beat the 4430s when set up right. There isn't many speakers that "Just sound right" for the price range they are in! Enjoy!
