Hi,
My new crossover, I use it with the AES digital input.
The digital signal from my CD / DVD.
To listen to vinyl record, I use the analog inputs.
Managing this through the network.
A great evolution.

Hi,
The comparison with the DSC260, there are 25 years of design difference.

The DSC260 is two conversions AD / DA, with DX46 I does That a single DA conversion.

The DSC260 is IIR filters and FIR filters is DX46.

Right, I understand all that thank you. Have you listened long enough to confess that you like it?

Does it employ FIR filters exclusively? I certainly don't know all there is to know about filters but I thought FIR's had fairly severe low frequency time delay penalties no?

For the selection of this crossover, I read the opinion of POS which is also equipped with this crossover.

What version of the firmware do you have?

The serial numbers are 15xx
It was manufactured in January 2011
The firmware is 1.0.0

IRIS.Net 2.5 expects version 1.01 (but keep working anyway) and I cannot find how one is supposed to update it...

"Updating the firmware
The Device Scan dialog allows updating the firmware of the Dx46/DSP 600.
CAUTION: The Dx46/DSP 600 firmware should be updated only, if problems with the firmware used so far exist
and these can be fixed by using a new firmware version.
1. Connect the Dx46/DSP 600 to your PC via Ethernet or USB.
2. Start the IRIS-Net application.
3. Selecting the entry Device Scan in the Tools menu lets you access the Device Scan dialog.
4. Select the entry DX46 or DSP600 in the Device Type List. All found devices are listed in the Devices list.
5. Right click the device to be updated in the Devices list. The Firmware Update Dialog appears.
6. The actual firmware file including version number is indicated and can be selected in the line “Firmware”. The
IRIS-Net software package always includes the most up-to-date firmware version. The corresponding file is located
in the directory: \IRIS-Net\Firmware\DX46 or \IRIS-Net\Firmware\DSP600. This path also appears in the line
“Location”. If you want to install a different (preferably newer) firmware version, you have to copy the corresponding
file into this directory first.
7. Clicking onto “Start Update” starts the upgrade procedure. After the upgrade the Dx46/DSP 600 resets and is
ready for operation. The upgrade procedure is finished and you can close the dialog window

R U still using this configuration? What type of digital cable did you use to connect the SPDIF output up to the DX46? What is the wiring diagram? Also, can you tell me what sample frequencies are supported in the DX46's digital input?
I assume you still like the sound?

What type of digital cable did you use to connect the SPDIF output up to the DX46? What is the wiring diagram?

The DX46 expects an AES/EBU signal on an XLR plug, but if you can output spdif a simple cinch/XLR adapter will do (a 75ohms/110ohms transformer would be better, but not mandatory)

Also, can you tell me what sample frequencies are supported in the DX46's digital input?

Stephane is correct about the internal sampling rate (48kHz), but the DX46 has an ASRC so any sampling rate up to 192kHz will work and will get converted.

The DX46 is a very nice unit, the only one with a usable FIR section in this price range, and sounds great (transparent, like almost any such DSP crossover unit nowadays), but it can be tricky to use sometimes, in part due to its 48bit fixed innards...
