    The buyer or the price?

    Those "kabuki" boxes seem to have a fairly large fan base;
    no accounting for rationality when that happens.

    That particular Pioneer has always captivated me... I'd love to give a pair a listen at some point. I have been told by those I trust that they sound much like they look, but I am still intrigued by them.

    They look like somebody tried to pack as much speaker as possible into a given size box.... practically bursting at the seams! The acoustics and physics of sound were not much of a consideration.

    I am not sure why I have a soft spot for them...

    I knew a guy in college who had a pair, while I had my L100s. Everyone was impressed with the size of his package, but everyone preferred the way I could work mine right up the limit. Especially the ladies. Elaine, Pam, Rene, Jackie, Kathy, Cheyenne, and Edie, where are you now?
    Out.
