    4355 clone

    Hi.
Made my first tryout with the 4355 clone.
The bas cab is an old Urei 813 , top cab is also an recycled old speaker.
If this wourks out well i start on a nicer looking cabinet.

    Hi

The 2405 is about 110 cm from the floor.

maybe you should try with the top box upside down to get the tweeter as close to your ear level as possible (90cm?), because these 2405 are real laser beams in the vertical plan. Do the test with white noise: you will hear the UHF level vary when moving up and down in front of it.

The only xo still left to build is that for the uhf.......so i have`nt tested the sound with the 2405.
My plan is to try and tilt the top cab and/or turn the cab so the 2405 is under the 2441.

Hei Lasse. Ser skikkelig tufft ut!!

If you build new cabinets: I recommend keeping middriver, HF driver and UHF driver at the same vertical axis. Less horizontal lobing then. And keep the bass drivers in a separate box.

Also bear in mind thet the DCX has some latency built in that you ideally have to compensate for when using passive filtering on the rest of the units.

Good job. I am big fan of modular cabinets. Bass in its own box, and the rest separately. Looking at the first picture, may I suggest to perhaps swap the left and right upper cabinets to achieve a better separation of upper mid and high frequencies. The larger the distance, the better the image and "stirio" effect.

Concerning the the combination of 12'inc mid-bass and 24xx +2308 lenses , do have any audible notches into horizontal-plane, expect-able around 1kHz, because of side-by -side positioning the mentioned drivers??
This driver positioning is very interesting for me, because I have a plan to make such arrangement too ( 2405+2446J+2307+2308+2202H with 2245H bass ), but into single box.
All of my simulations showed that there would be expectable notch in horizontal plane at about 30deg off-axis...so that is why I am so curious, about the measurements....
