    Question Do I have 2441's or 2482's?

Some time back I picked up a pair of 2" drives with no badge that had been painted black.

They have the large pro push connectors and phenolic diaphragms that read 7.2 & 6.8. There are no markings inside or out and I am thinking they maybe 2482's.

    Any thoughts?

As far as I'm aware, if it has phenolic, it must be the 2482. Others here may correct me, but the mounts are slightly different between the 2441 and 2482 and are thus not interchangeable.

    2482's

    Those look just like mine!!!!
Well, if you don't want to use them in your stereo, you could maybe use them as fog horns on your boat. I'm sure people would hear them for miles! Very tough with the phenolics in them. Just don't let water get into it and you'll be OK.
Actually, I use mine on a 2350 horn. Crown DC300A Series II powers them up. Nice and clean and the potential for SPL is there also. Be carefull!

Big midrange horns, like ganska stygga horn. These are 200 Hz. I have heard them with 2441 and they sound fantastic. With 2482 they would sound even better I believe.

I think that the throat of 2482 is 185 Hz, so build a pair of 185 Hz horns and use them from 300 Hz.

    2482 Phenolic

This marvelous driver is a high SPL machine with high phram' excursion and a fairly wide space between dome and phase plug which limits the HF response, but has excellent FS damping; not a bad trade off for a honk free horn machine.herki[Quote/]
