Does anyone know who 'designed' these? Perhaps a team effort?

I do believe it was Greg Timbers.
JBL S3100, VPI HM19 MKIV w/SAMA, Moerch UP4 ,Hana ML cart, Blackdog VTP , Audio Note M2 line stage, Perreaux PMF 1850.
I bought my pair of S/2600s from a former JBL employee who was part of the team. Mine are the final pre-production models with no serial numbers. The boxes they came in had GT written on them, and the gentleman, who shall remain nameless, told me the GT stood for Greg Timbers, then asked me if I knew who he was.
I said, "Of course I do," and he was surprised I did.
Out.
Here is the owner's manual for the S2600 / S3100.

I am a bit curious of how many members on this forum have a pair of these, or for that matter, the S/3100mkII (i think that is the model) & the impressions that you have. I know there have been some other threads concerning these wonderful speakers but perhaps this could be a "all inclusive" version for future reference-mainly since these are somewhat rare in the States - plus the fact that they won awards and are damn fine speakers.
