    L200t3

Well after 18mths. of research & putting my jbl's back togother from being rescued out of a dumpster,I find out there are'nt any recone kits available for my drivers.Apparently these were the home version of the 4425 studio monitor. My question is how should i go about "replacing" my drivers?2214h maybe...Or should i recone with what is available?Any suggestions would be much appreciated, these are with out a doubt the best sounding speaker i have heard.thanks

According to their web page, Orange County Speakers will recone them for 152 each. Give them a call.

Why couldn't you use the 2214 or recone with 2214 kits?? Are the drivers that different?? It works in the 4425. Have to adjust the level on the horn a bit?? They use the same frames right??

Ok... here's the scoop... the 128H-1 would be a better replacement for the 120T3 transducer. You can also use the 2214H but it has the worst top end response of the three and it is the most efficient... In any case you should try the driver swap before worrying about the networks.

Anybody got the T/S parameters and/or a FR graph for the 120T3? Or willing to measure one? Given those, it might be possible to "engineer" a recone kit. I've been experimenting with modifying/mix-and-matching aftermarket components, to as closely as possible match original JBL drivers... and it would seem, that with some creative "parts-chasing", it might be possible to recone that 'T3 back to proper working condition...

    Regards,
    Gordon.

You can see part of the grille on the speaker to the left in Robh's first pic.
