    DIY 2405 refurb

    These showed up today a little worn and tired. I will post more pics and details later but wanted to give you a quick before and after for now.

    Yes, waiting for the JB Weld to setup so I can file and sand it smooth. It will be covered in the expanded documentation.

    Nice Work Ward !

    I always Love to see drivers/speakers come back from the brink ! Do you have new JBl diaghrams for them.Wake them right up from that sleepy state.

    One had been punched through, like so many I've seen.

    So pull out the heat gun, remove the foilcal and make a clean hole with a hole punch.

    Reapply the foilcal and a much cleaner look.

    One of the mounting brackets was broken.

    Fill the break with JB Weld and clamp it in place to set.

    I started with some 180 grit on a flat surface. In this case, a piece of 1/4" glass I have to sand the face smooth and flat.

    A piece wrapped around to break the surface and remove some of the paint. You can see the original machining marks. You don't have to sand this perfectly smooth.
