Of all the different types of material available for acoustic dampening, is there a source of lab results on performance ? I know that everyone has their favorite and YES I did do a SEARCH.

I don't even remember how I stumbled upon that link, but I didn't bookmark it the first time I saw it. It took a bit of searching the next time I tried to find it and I bookmarked that sucker that time. I was interested in the

for making room treatment panels.

Yea, "Ultra Touch Cotton" sounds more like an underware advertisement but I enjoy working with the stuff. I made a horrible mistake and used my bandsaw to cut the material and spent the next hour cleaning the mess out of the saw. One more of life's lessons.

Here is a supplier of a relatively inexpensive cotton semi rigid panel... emphasis on semi.
The acoustical properties are listed and it performs really well. Cutting it is tough though. We use it for room treatment. For speaker damping I still prefer Wrap-on 1" fiberglass.
