What a great project !
Always loved the look of the DD55000, bet they sound great too.
But the price for a original pair...... ouch.
Looking forward to seeing how yours turn out
I have always loved that speaker design ... well done !
It seems that more and more replicas (including cab and crossover) have been built these years. HervéM on this forum did it with success !!!
Nice work !

Very nice job Roadmaster. Allow me to share a trick with you in regard of painting. When the wood is sanded, apply a few coats of floor varnish. Wet sand in between coats, until you reach a perfect smoothness to the hand. When your "foundation" is to your satisfaction, then a coat or two of paint will do. It will have a very regular texture, and a very, very smooth finish. Use oil-based varnish. Not acrylic.
my box recived 6 coats of enamel on the side and sand and coat ,the center section (speaker)
is not finish only 2 coats and non sand ,
i didn't have enough paint and my store doesnt have anymore in stock.
i was too anxious to put up the pictures, so i put them up like so.
Concerning the horns, I'm waiting for an appointment with a paint pro
Beautiful Job! Did you fabricate the horn or is it the same one used on the 55000? What are you using to drive it with? Are the measurements available some place for this or did you have one to work with when you did your measured drawings? Cheers, Frank
