    Double nickels for opimax

Sammy Hagar screeched it: "I can't drive 55!" but apparenlty opimax can handle it. He's 55 today.

Did he get that Ti Series center he's dreamed about?

Nope, Sammy Hagar. Later Bob Rivers with "I can't drive, I'm 55!"

    Happy birthday just the same.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

    Yep.

That says something about my frame of reference for both these guys.

(Squier/Hagar: pretty lips, pretty hair, pretty eyes, pretty young back when--I think Mark is younger at 55.)

thanks everyone! I have a problem with driving 55 but not being it

Got a set of sound canceling headphones for commute and biking

and we went and see Jesse Cook at the Birchmere last night, talanted guitar player

And the fun continues this weekend, getting some bass traps for the house and taking a set of 250's over to Steve V's house and listening to them in another enviroment which is been set up for audio rahter than just dropped in corners of my house. Different(newer) electronics too! They will be set in the location as the Legends in the above picture, we will be able to compare these speakers.

Changing to Legacy Audio and started with a Silver Screen HD for my center between the 250TIs

    Mark
Yep, he'll be over tomorrow along with Heather and Wilfredo. Since he won't be driving, we'll have to celebrate number 55 appropriately!

    Happy Birthday Mark!!!

    Happy Birthday Mark!!!
And what a fun time it was!!

Moved Steve's evil Legacy speakers out of the way, they brought in Opimax's 250s (Paint it black!)
to see how they sounded somewhere other than Mark's place ...
The speakers sounded quite nice in Steve's audio den ... and a good time time was had by all!
well, at least by us (Steve Wilfredo and I).
And it seemed a good time was had by Mark, whether he liked the test results or not!

Its not often your house gets proclaimed "The place where Bass goes to die" ...

Wilfredo, Heather, and I thought the 250's sounded pretty darn good! I met Mark to pick them up at his house earlier and we listened to them first. The high frequencies were "scratchy" and there was very little bass. The highs sounded just fine at my house and the bass was good too. But, Mark likes A LOT of bass. As you can see from the picture, I've got huge bass traps in all four corners (ONE DAY I'll make grills to cover them! ). Anyway, it makes the room response much flatter overall, but it takes away some of those good vibrations you get from standing waves when you're sitting in the right place.

Mark's house has really solid walls and there's not much absorption in his room. We suspect that's why they sound bright and don't have much bass at his place. I think the experiment ruled out that the 250's have problems. That's a good thing!
