Take a look at the 4730A speaker specs. 2226 woofer, 2118 mid, 2404 tweet. The 2118 has no high cut and simply rolls off naturally which provides a crossover pte of 3500 with the 2404 (ie, 6 db down at 3500). Anyway, I had the drivers so wired it up as an experiment, thinking about a possible hi fi application. It wasn't "bad" . . . but to these ears used to big horn treble, it just had no "bloom" - seemed closed, straining - not natural. Which, of course, is exactly what was happening - it was "out of gas." I later tried the 2118 in a 4-way configuration (300 - 1200) and found it sounded pretty darn good - not as good as a 2123, but it had some good qualities; was easy to listen to, seemed right at home. Anyway, I concluded that the 2118 was more of a regular mid-range speaker . . . at least in terms of hi fi use. This and 99 cents will get you a coffee at MacDonalds. Mike
